Our Mission
Government Inter College Naugaonkhal, Pauri Garhwal, is located on the Pauri–Chaundkot motor road, about 56 kilometers from the district headquarters, Pauri, in the Ekeshwar development block. The school serves students from 12 Gram Panchayats who are enrolled and studying here.
Who We Are
The school was established in 1947 as a Junior High School and was the only school of its kind in the Chaundkot region at that time. In 1960, it was upgraded to a High School. In 1964, with the introduction of Arts subjects, it was upgraded to the Intermediate level and named Chaundkot Inter College. On 1 December 1975, the school was nationalized and renamed Government Inter College, Naugaonkhal.
In 1979, the school received recognition for the Science stream at the Intermediate level. In 2003, the school was provided with a newly constructed building. In 2016, the institution was developed as a Government Model Inter College.
On 8 January 2021, the school was selected under the Atal Utkrisht School Scheme. Subsequently, on 23 July 2021, the school became affiliated with CBSE, New Delhi, under the name Atal Utkrisht Government Inter College, Naugaonkhyal. The CBSE affiliation has been granted up to 31 March 2031.
At present, the school has established a distinct identity as Atal Utkrisht Government Inter College, Naugaonkhal, Pauri Garhwal.
Achievements of the School
During its long academic journey, the school has achieved success in multiple dimensions. Along with academic excellence, the school has made notable contributions in co-curricular activities, educational innovation, and social service.
Students educated at the school are serving the nation in various fields.
The NSS unit was active in the school since 2005, undertaking significant work in environmental conservation.
In 2008, students represented the district at the State-Level Science Exhibition.
In 2009, under the NSS “Sparsh Ganga” programme, awareness activities were organized in the Jwalpa–Gham area, along with a large-scale cleanliness drive and river conservation work on the Nayyar River (West). For this, the NSS unit was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the district coordinator.
In 2011, students represented District Pauri Garhwal at the State-Level Science Festival.
In 2013, students represented the state at the National-Level Science Exhibition and secured positions in various competitions.
In 2014, the school represented the state at the National-Level Science Drama competition.
In 2015, students represented the district at the State-Level Art Festival.
In 2016, students represented the district at the State-Level Science Drama competition.
In 2017, students represented the district at the State-Level Science Exhibition.
In 2018, students represented the district at both the State-Level Science Exhibition and Science Drama.
In 2019, students again represented the district at the State-Level Science Exhibition and Science Drama.
Under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) programme in 2019, two students participated in an educational tour to Karnataka.
In January 2020, two girl students participated in an EBSB educational tour to Karnataka.
In the 2019–20 academic session, student Kumari Sanskriti Dharmana secured 14th position in the State Merit List of the Uttarakhand Board Examination, bringing pride to the school and district.
In 2021, a school student’s INSPIRE Award project was selected at the state level.
Students have also achieved positions at the state level in sports.
In 2022, under the Chief Minister Emerging Player Scheme, one boy and one girl student received a scholarship of ₹1500 per month.
In 2023, student Ananya Joshi, daughter of Shri Harish Joshi, was selected for National-Level Under-14 School Volleyball.
In 2024, student Ishan Kunwar was selected for the National-Level Science Exhibition.
In 2025, four students represented the school in the Under-14 State Volleyball Championship.
